Liberty practicum in New Hampshire
Liberty's lookup shows New Hampshire as approved for practicum whatever your online nursing track, and the state has been a Nurse Licensure Compact member since 2018. New Hampshire does have a filing rule for out-of-state nursing programs, but it's written for pre-licensure education. For students near the southern border, the bigger issue is Boston: Massachusetts sites need a Massachusetts RN license.

Liberty programs in New Hampshire, and who finds the site
All of Liberty's online nursing programs are approved for practicum in New Hampshire. Approval of the state leaves the search itself, and Liberty splits that job differently by track.

New Hampshire's filing rule for out-of-state programs
Nur 602.15(j) covers approved pre-licensure programs from other states when they hold contracts with New Hampshire facilities for clinical experiences. Before the experience, such a program must register its intent with the Board of Nursing, and each planned placement needs six weeks' notice. The paperwork: every year, a Form A petition; for each rotation, a Part B Student Clinical Placement form; and for each preceptor, a Clinical Preceptor Agreement.
Three limits matter for Liberty students. First, the rule is aimed at pre-licensure programs. The Office of Professional Licensure and Certification says the Board doesn't regulate post-licensure programs such as RN-to-BSN and RN-to-MSN, and it's silent on graduate NP programs. Second, Liberty's New Hampshire page names no extra step. Third, the published rule text carries a January 23, 2026 expiration date. The office was still citing the rule that month, and a readoption is not on record in our research. Ask the practicum team rather than assuming either way.
Full practice, and the systems where NPs work
The AANP rates New Hampshire as full practice. That label describes NP licensure in the state; whether a given NP can precept you is Liberty's decision, and Liberty hasn't published its FNP preceptor credentials. See preceptor requirements for Liberty's published guidance, old and new.
The state's systems include Catholic Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare; Concord Hospital Health System; and Dartmouth Health, which includes Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. SolutionHealth was founded by Southern New Hampshire Health and Elliot Health System, and in July 2025 its boards proposed dissolving it. They're starting points for a search, with no Liberty tie implied. A New Hampshire preceptor incentive doesn't appear in our research.
Your license, and the pull of Boston
New Hampshire's compact membership took effect on January 19, 2018. For Liberty, what matters is holding an RN license that works in the practicum state, and here either a New Hampshire license or a multistate one from your compact home state qualifies. The APRN Compact hasn't been enacted in New Hampshire. Details are on RN license for practicum.
The Boston-Cambridge-Newton metro takes in about 459,000 New Hampshire residents. The Manchester-Nashua metro has about 433,000, and the Concord area is near 158,000. If you commute south for work, Liberty approves Massachusetts for every program, but your New Hampshire license won't carry you there.
Massachusetts enacted the compact in 2024 and targets May 2027 to put it into effect. Until then, a multistate license gives no privilege to practice there, and Liberty's page asks for a Massachusetts RN license. Staying in New Hampshire, or crossing into Vermont or Maine, keeps your multistate license in play.
A site in Massachusetts means applying for a Massachusetts RN license first, even with a New Hampshire multistate license.

Questions Liberty students ask
Does New Hampshire require six weeks' notice for Liberty clinicals?
The six-week notice in Nur 602.15(j) applies to approved pre-licensure programs from other states, and according to the licensing office, the Board doesn't regulate post-licensure programs. It doesn't address graduate NP programs, and Liberty's New Hampshire page names no filing. The practicum team can confirm whether anything is needed for your placement.
Can I do Liberty clinicals at a Boston hospital while living in New Hampshire?
Liberty approves Massachusetts for practicum, but you'd need a Massachusetts RN license. Massachusetts is aiming to implement the compact in May 2027 and hasn't yet put it into effect, so for now a New Hampshire multistate license doesn't reach there. Ask the practicum team, too, whether Massachusetts's placement approval rule for out-of-state programs touches your track.
Do Liberty MSN students in New Hampshire find their own practicum site?
Yes. The current catalog expects MSN students to line up a facility they select and a preceptor site contract, and the facility's affiliation agreement must be signed before your first practicum course begins. Start asking New Hampshire facilities early; Liberty's older handbook notes that a facility's own contract can slow approval.
Is New Hampshire a full practice state for nurse practitioners?
Yes, the AANP rates it as full practice. For your practicum, that describes the NP you'd learn from, not the rules for your placement. Liberty still approves each preceptor and site and hasn't published its FNP preceptor credentials, so clear it with the practicum team before asking a New Hampshire NP to take you on.
